Here's my theories on Matt's location...

A>Sharp could be writing new material still...
B>He could just be taking a long break from the music world...

Hey, This is probably useless, and a figment of my imagination, but when I heard all the stuff about threntals.net never being updated, I decided to go check for myself. When I got there, it seemed to be updated fine, with notes up to spring 2001 I think.

A message from Matt saying thanks to all the Weezer fans who missed him, he said he missed us too*. As far as I can remember, it said they were getting ready to make a new album. I think they've been spending a lot of time in Spain aswell... Right, that's about as much as I can remember, and I'm REALLY doubting myself on this because of everyone saying the site wasn't updated since October 2000... maybe possibly it was updated briefly, then they decided to take away the updates again?

Maybe no one checked that recently, and just assumed it wasn't updated? Otherwise, I'll be getting seriously worried about my memory! * = The message was DEFINITELY there, do you remember it being there in the October update? Get back to me if you want to prove me wrong, coz I need someone to prove me one way or the other! ~ Anonymous

Well, the October update did feature a note from Matt. He did mention how he appreciated praise from old Weezer fans, and how he missed them. Sharp also noted that he was working on several different projects, and would give the fans more information soon. Well, it's been nearly nine months since the last update to www.therentals.net was written. If you try to access the site at this date (6/24/01), nothing appears. Who knows what's going on. Thanks for your thoughts!

Matt sharp was in Victoria British columbia last week. He said he was here visiting his friend Mike. He shook my hand!. He also said how much he hates the new Weezer album!... ~Anonymous
